Course Description

Tru64 UNIX Immersion for UNIX Professionals is a fast paced course designed to familiarize students with unique qualities about Tru64 UNIX from other UNIX systems.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for individuals with mid-level system administration UNIX experience. It is especially geared to presales technical support, services personnel and business partners.

Prerequisites

Prior to taking this course, students should be able to perform the following tasks using the UNIX operating system of their choice:

• Manipulate files
• Navigate a directory
• Set up and manage printers
• Use mail
• Install the UNIX operating system
• Manage disks and file systems
• Manager users
• Create and manage a LAN using UNIX
• Troubleshoot start up and normal system admin issues
• Tune the system to the applications currently running on it/understand performance issues
• Create the level of security necessary for the environment they are in/understand security issues

Students can gain this information by experience or by taking courses from other UNIX operating systems curricula.
